Founder & Lead Paralegal Over the past 45+ years, Robert K Weafer has championed the cause of road safety through numerous high profile positions within the private and public sector. Robert began his career as a truck driver and later became a MTO Enforcement Officer in Northwestern Ontario. He relocated to Southern Ontario to conduct special investigations and was promoted to the Ministry of Transportation's Operational Policy Development Office in Toronto. Robert eventually became the Provincial Training Coordinator responsible for providing training to all of the MTO enforcement officers and auditors, as well as various other police agencies. As an Ontario representative, Robert collaborated with other provincial, territorial and federal government leaders at the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) to address national road safety priorities, including the implementation of crucial commercial vehicle regulations. He participated with agencies from across North America as a committee member with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) and helped establish the framework for commercial vehicle safety inspections. Robert was also a key player in the Ontario Government's creation and implementation of the most significant road safety reforms ever legislated; including the National Safety Code (NSC), CVOR, Hours of Work, Facility Audit Standards, and Target '97. Robert is a licensed Paralegal and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (formerly the Law Society of Upper Canada). He is a trained and examined ISO Auditor, qualified Transportation Safety Auditor, as well as an accomplished Adult Educator, Policy Advisor, Keynote Speaker and recognized Road Safety Specialist. Robert continues his unrivalled vocation through his two companies, NADM INC and R.K. Weafer Legal Services, where he offers high-quality road safety legal services and risk management for various transportation businesses throughout Canada, enhancing highway traffic defense for his clients.
